GREENFIELD – Dorothy Helen (Brune) Kuhns, age 83, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. She was born on December 30, 1929 in Hancock County, the daughter of Clifford C. and Hazel A. (Faut) Brune. Dorothy graduated from New Palestine High School in 1947. She married Richard E. “Dick” Kuhns on January 21, 1949 at New Palestine United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kuhns was the Human Resources Manager at Electra Corporation. She was a lifetime member of the New Palestine United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, especially with chocolate, creating oil paintings and playing Bridge. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Dick; daughters, Sandy (Dale) Walker of Morristown; Nancy Jo Hilliker of New Palestine; brother, Harold G. (Imogene) Brune of Fountaintown; grandchildren, Rob (Shannyn) Walker, Chrissy (Joe) Paxton, Travis (Linley) Oneal, Matt Hilliker, Andrea Hilliker; and five great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Christine Anne Kuhns; and daughter, Terri (Kuhns) Oneal. Visitation will be on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Pastor Mark Wesler will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
