GREENFIELD – Dr. Robert L. Gottschalk, age 49, local dentist and long-time resident of Greenfield, passed into heaven with God, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on January 16, 1966 in Indianapolis as the son of Ronald Gottschalk and Sue (Mackey) Allred. He spent his childhood in Greenfield and Peru, Indiana. He graduated from Maconaquah High School in 1984. Dr. Bob attended Indiana University and IU School of Dentistry, where he graduated at the top of his class. In 1992, Dr. Bob founded Complete Family Dentistry and has cared well for hundreds of adults and children. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Bradley United Methodist Church, and Beta Theta Pi. Bob loved animals (especially his dog Gage,) hunting, travel, sports, movies and collecting watches, pocket knives, and sports memorabilia. Bob had flown airplanes, been scuba diving, and climbed the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. His greatest joys were his dental practice and his daughters. Bob was a kind, affectionate, and generous man who will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many. Dr. Bob is survived by his parents, Ron Gottschalk of Greenfield and Sue Mackey Allred of Fishers, formerly of Peru. He is also survived by his Sister Lynn Gottschalk of Fishers, Step-brother Matt (Erin) Allred with Nephews Sawyer and Cooper and Niece Sullivan, of Reading, PA, Wife Angie Gottschalk and Daughters Lyla (10) & Logan (7) of Greenfield. Bob is also survived by his Uncle Ron (Carrol) Sampson, Cousins Cindy Ogg and Scott (Valerie) Sampson of Torrance, CA; Aunt Sally (John) Mylet of Tipton, Cousins Ronda (Eddie) Sampson Lee of Greensburg, and Debby (Alan) Myers. Bob was preceded in death by Grandparents Marjorie and Robert Lowell Gottschalk of Bunker Hill and Betty and Merle Sampson of Peru, Step-father Ron Allred, step-brother Sean Allred, and Cousin Jeff Range of Peru. Bob had been blessed with a vision of a peaceful and pain-free heaven and was ready to go meet Jesus and his departed loved ones. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140 with viewing two hours prior to the service.
