Roland F. Werner

FISHERS – Roland F. Werner, age 73, of Fishers, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Community Hospital North. He was born on December 2, 1941 in Batesville, IN as the son of Paul A. and Loretta C. (Schumacher) Werner. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Ruth Ann F. (Moorman) on October 30, 1965 at St. Anthony Parish in Morris, IN. He worked as a production supervisor at General Motors Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 1998. Mr. Werner was a member of St. John Vianney and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, tinkering with cars, and playing the harmonica. He also enjoyed watching local sports teams such as the Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, and Colts. Roland is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann F. Werner of Fishers, IN; sons, Gregory A. (Nancy) Werner of McCordsville, IN and Jody M. (Christine) Werner of Carmel, IN; daughters, Tricia M. (Kris) Keeler of Lawrence, IN and Amy L. (Mark) Laker of McCordsville, IN; brothers, Paul Werner, Jr. of Mason, OH, Jerry J. Werner of Batesville, IN, Thomas C. Werner of Batesville, IN, Keith A. Werner of Fredericksburg, MA, Douglas S. Werner of Miamisburg, OH, and Robert D. Werner of Batesville, IN; sister, Mary E. Rennekamp of Brookville, IN; 14 grandchildren, Ellen Werner, Daniel Werner, Pete Werner, Tom Werner, Anne Marie Keeler, Joey Keeler, Emily Keeler, Jordan Laker, Christine Laker, Cory Laker, Jack Laker, Franny Werner, Gus Werner, and Teddy Werner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul A. and Loretta C. (Schumacher) Werner and brother, William J. Werner. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 15176 Blessed Mother Blvd., Fishers, IN 46037. Father Brian Dudzinski will be officiating.
