GREENFIELD– Gayle Lawson, age 73, of Greenfield, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2012, in Greenfield. Born on May 13, 1939, in Monticello, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Brown) Shelton. Gayle graduated from Wayne County High School and worked at BMG in the Credit Department for 28 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Hancock Reformed Baptist Church.
Surviving her are her daughters, Stacey (Luke) Pauley of Mooresville and Deanne (Christopher) Hiett of Indianapolis; brothers, Ralph Shelton of Monticello, KY, and Herbert Shelton of Lexington, KY; sisters, Rayanna Eller of Monticello, KY, Marlene (R.A.) Anderson of Greenfield, Noretta Padgett of Greenfield, and Letha Shepherd of Kansas City, Kansas. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Otha Shelton and Leonard Shelton; and sister, Pearl Perdew.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
