GREENFIELD – Jerold Francis Donaldson, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1935 in Indianapolis as the son of Sedric and Margaret (Nevitt) Donaldson. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1953 and attended Little Flower Catholic Church during his grade school years. Jerold served in the Airforce from 1961-1962. He married Clara M. (Keesling) on June 6, 1969 in Indianapolis. Jerold attended Little Flower Catholic Church. He loved gardening, football, softball, baseball, keeping up with current events, politics, and traveling. Jerold is survived by his loving wife Clara Donaldson of Greenfield; son, Scott Donaldson of Indianapolis; sister, Maryann Donaldson of Marion, IN; brother, Tom (Pam) Donaldson of Greenfield; sister-in-law, Doretta Donaldson; best friend, Paul (Georgie) Georgescu; close family friends, Michelle and Jim Coffey and their children, Jake and Jaylyn; and his large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sedric and Margaret Donaldson; brother, Donald Donaldson. Memorial gathering will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will take place immediately following the gathering at 7:00 p.m. Msgr. Joseph Riedman will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent directly to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
