GREENFIELD – Helen I. (Moore) Hasty, age 88, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Community Hospital East. She was born on February 8, 1927 in Anderson, IN as the daughter of Joseph E. and Edith (Bagley) Moore. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1945. Helen married Walter H. Hasty on September 5, 1953 in Michigan. She worked for Hancock County Clerk’s Office for more than 20 years before retiring. Mrs. Hasty was very active with the Republican Party and was a member of Greenfield Christian Church, F.O.P. and Auxiliary member of the American Legion. She was also a past member of Sigma Beta Rho Chapter and she had volunteered for Hancock Regional Hospital in the gift shop for over 30 years. She loved crafting, oil painting, and designing birdhouses. Helen is survived by her daughter, Becky (Tim) Colip of Greenfield; brother, Raymond “Cliff” (Kay) Moore of Beech Grove, IN; sister, Shirley (Bob) Conners of Stuart, FL; two grandchildren, Jeff (Vicki) Murdoch of Newberg, IN and Travis (Lindsay) Colip of Hopkinsville, KY; five great-grandchildren, Jordan and Abby Murdoch and Mackenzie, Chloe, and Lily Colip; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E. and Edith (Bagley) Moore; and husband, Walter H. Hasty. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Reverend David Livingston will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
